My name is Callum Macdonald. I carry the herpes simplex virus. I’ve carried it for about 2 years now. I generally get outbreaks on my inner thigh and on the tip of my penis. I’m proud to say I have herpes.

When I first discovered I had the disease, I felt like a lepper. I felt ashamed of carrying the virus. As I’ve learned more about this virus, I’ve become increasingly convinced that talking about the virus is a big part of learning to live with it.
